About Us
The Glass Paperweight Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization. Founded as the International Paperweight Society Foundation, we have been active since 1995 in helping create awareness of glass paperweights as an art form with artists, collectors, and the general public.
Over the years we have sponsored a library donation program, traveling glass paperweight exhibits, and lectures about antique and modern glass paperweights. Most recently we were responsible for assisting the Art Institute of Chicago in more than doubling the size of its world famous Arthur Rubloff paperweight exhibit which is a remarkable assemblage that is recognized as one of the three premier collections on permanent display in the world. Few collections more fully showcase the quality of craftsmanship, technological innovation, intricacy and beauty of this art form.
