Events

Ever since our founding in 1995 the Glass Paperweight Foundation has actively supported the glass paperweight community. In the beginning we held conventions first on our own and later in conjunction with the Paperweight Collectors’ Association.  We have done traveling glass paperweight exhibits at museums, hosted presentations at historical society meetings, art museums and schools.  Since 2010 we have alternated years with the Paperweight Collectors’ Association's biennial conventions in order to provide collectors, artists and the general public with an opportunity to enjoy and learn more about the wonderful world of glass paperweights.

In 2012 we were responsible for assisting the Art Institute of Chicago with more than doubling the size of their Arthur Rubloff paperweight exhibit which is a remarkable assemblage that is recognized as one of the three premier collections on permanent display in the world.  We marked this milestone in paperweight history with a huge party called Celebrate the Paperweight 2012.
